Salamanca experiences a moderate climate where the summers
are warm with temperatures around 95°F and the autumn
and winter seasons are quite breezy and subject to occasional
thunderstorms. Temperatures in winters can fall upto
34°F at night.
HOW TO REACH SALAMANCA
Salamanca is best reached by bus. People preferring
air travel can land at the Barajas or Valladolid airport
and then take a bus or a train to Salamanca
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS OF SALAMNCA
Plaza Mayor
The beautiful Baroque square is the historical centre
of the city. The illumination at nighttime makes for
a pretty picture. Now a site for bars and cafés,
it was a former venue for bullfights.
Salamanca University
The university has stunning architecture in the form
a splendid façade that contains an array of historical
figures including Catholic monarchs and frogs!
Two Cathedrals
The two cathedrals, standing side by side took over
200 yrs to be completed and reflect the late Gothic,
Baroque and Plateresque styles of architecture. The
church tower and dome dominates the city skyline and
the Gothic tombs are worth a visit
Roman Bridge
Built over River Tomas, the bridge dates back to 89
AD. Tourists can still walk over the bridge.
