Today it is the capital city of the province of Cordoba.

Cordoba is located in the Andalusia region, south of
Spain, alongside the River Guadalquivir.

Torre de la Calahorra
The tower of Calahorra was built by the Moors as is

and one of three in Spain. The beautiful interiors and
the walls that are covered with rich white Mudéjar
style decoration and Hebrew inscriptions along with
the entrance gate is worth seeing.
Mezquita Mosque and Cathedral
This unique landmark in Spain unites the religious elements
of Islam and Christianity and is the largest temple
in the world with huge dimensions of 24000 sq. kms and
having 856 columns made up of granite, jasper and other
fine stones. It also features Spanish-Flemish vaults,
Renaissance domes, and baroque altar vaults
Medina Azahara
The palace city of Medina Azahara was excavated in 1910
and the outstanding ruins of the monuments speak a tale
of amazing grandeur.
